The TEA XP608M is an excellent transplanter with incredible functionality. Capable of handling practically any plug tray and pack tray. TEA's technology allows the operator to change betwen different programs with next to no downtime. Typicaly 1 minutes on average, just to alter a tray guide rail. This means that production transplanting time is maximized. The TEA automatic XP plug / seedling transplanter is incredibly flexible allowing transplanting from trays such as 512,288, 360,240, 128,200 and into imperial 4,6,8 etc as well as metric 3,4,6,8 etc. The machine will also plant into pots in trays . As an example any MK9 or Mk12 pot combination, 10 packs can also be transplanted. Typically with the XP 608M you will expect to transplant imperial punnets in an Australian standard outer tray :-Imperials :- working one Australian outer tray4 plants per punnet - 8 seconds to complete the whole tray of 8 punnets, 8 plants per punnet - 16 seconds to plants the whole tray of 8 punnets with 8 plants per punnet. For 3 and 6 plants timings are the same as for 4 and 8 plants i.e. 8 seconds for imperial 6 complete tray and 16 seconds for imperial 6 complete tray. Metric punnets can be calculated easily at 2 seconds for every row planted. So a Metric 8 punnet arrangement in hard trays would be 10 planted rows. Each row takes 2 seconds, so the whole hard tray can be planted in 20 seconds (80 plants). Typical production is about 1700 plants per hour per head so with 4 heads expect around 6800 plants per hour at full speed, with 6 heads expect about 10,000 plants per hour production. The machie has a cycle time of about 2 seconds per row so for example transplanting into an Australian standard tray with two 10 packs inside would take approximatey 10 seconds to completely plant into and finish the tray. Production speeds will vary depending upon the operating speed , set up and plug quality etc.

One of the real features of the TEA transplanter is it's total flexibility. Because it can plant from virtually all plug trays into practically any tray. The machine brings incredible flexibility, moreover the grower has freedom to choose his plug tray supplier without fear of being locked in. In a similar way because the machine is so easy to program the trays into which plants are planted into can be varied seasonly should you wish. Meaning you don't have to be locked to your punnet supplier for example as the machine wil work with any suppliers. The machine automatically determines the correct number of heads to use depending upon the programs the operator selected on the control panel. The machine automatically excludes heads that cannot be used from the planting operation. ( The machine looks for the highest common denominator between the two trays. For example planting from a 512 into say a tray with five pots across it would make sense to use only five heads as three cannot be used. Rather than the operator having to remove the heads the machine sends three heads over to one side out of the way of the rest. This saves alot of time and increases productivity.

The TEA Xp has transplanting heads that are fully independent of one another and this means that truly unique cell spacing can be achieved with extra width between adjacent punnets being considered accurately. This means the grower can accurately transplant young plants directly into the the centre of each cell regardless of tray wall thickness.
